Intentions and Manifesting: New Age Non-Sense

In your life between lives you are with your Guides, freed of a human body and all its desires and needs, you are pure energy, a Soul. It is in this higher form that you carefully plan all the details of this life before coming to Earth as a human (if that is your current form).  Again, you plan all the details. Did I mention ALL?  You intend and manifest it all, BEFORE coming here. Why? You do this on the Other Side, as a Soul, with your wise Guides when you are detached from the lower body desires that are aroused when you are in a body. What are lower body desires?  You have five senses. Therefore things like eating (taste), sex (touch), beauty (sight), music (sound), and intellectual stimulation (mind) start to dominate your desires. You start to worship money, adventures, security, possessions and many other distractions. Why are these distractions? They are distractions because you already decided, and arranged to have money or poverty, a successful love life or sex for money and many other circumstances before you came here. You arranged your life to come here to evolve as a Soul.  That means some of you came here to be Madonna, and others came here to be homeless and schizophrenic.  Each set of circumstances is a “class,” a course of study that you came here to experience.  Lower body desires are distractions when they are worshipped, when you pray for them, hunger for them, focus your life around them.

I have never had a client or student, or met a New Age person who worked hard on manifesting world peace, or set an intention and then prayed and did affirmations to be a more generous or selfless person. The New Age billion dollar industry offers thousands of workshops for people to learn to manifest money, a better love life, a career that will feed an ego (no one has ever tried to manifest a successful house cleaning business for example), or their “gift” (again, one that will feed an ego).  I actually saw an ad for an online workshop where the woman literally said she had a direct line to god and that if you paid for her online workshop she would tell god what you wanted and you would get it. What is more unbelievable is that people signed up and paid!

Can we intend and manifest? Yes. I am sure  you have seen this scene in a market, a small child is obsessed with a toy or candy and makes a fuss, then continues to fuss, and doesn’t stop. The only thing the parents can finally do is give the child what s/he wants and work on the issue at a later date over time, or if the toy or candy is a danger to the child the parents might have to assert their power as parents to stop the child and deal with the fall out.  When in a human body you are child-like compared to your Higher Self, and Source. When you set about intending and manifesting earth plane desires, you are making a fuss. Sometimes Spirit will “give in” and will work with you to get you back on your original path.  Sometimes Spirit will have to use something more drastic, like cancer, to literally save your Soul because you simply won’t listen and you are headed for danger as you are obsessed with manifesting your desires.  Worshiping your earth plane desires will ultimately weaken you, delay your growth and make the path more difficult.  You set up challenges before you came here. Trying to control them once here or trying to avoid them is like going off trail without a map or four-wheel drive.

No one, no plant or animal or even landscape ever grows or even exists without challenge. Sunshine every day is a dessert.  No challenge, you die.  In nature fires, floods, earthquakes, weather, seasons, all exist. All bring forth new life, beauty. Electricity does not flow without a positive and negative pole. We need friction and resistance to get strong, grow, and expand. Gemstones are geodes when mined, and then are polished with friction to become jewels, just like humans. We shine when we get through challenges; it brings out the jewel, the shine, and the best in us. Every life has challenge, and every life has beauty whether you are climbing the Himalayas in a storm, or sailing in the Caribbean on a sunny day.

You used your free will to decide to come to earth, and to design and commit to live this current life. No one forced you. Why would you pray to change that after incarnation?  You only do that because you are tired and/or afraid and have lost your connection to Source.  Once here you still have free will, free will live this life either connected or not connected to Source, free will to take care of yourself or abuse yourself, free will to go against the path you designed and chose, and free will to make your life harder by praying and intending to manifest what you want (that you hope will make you feel better) because now that you are in a human body you are feeling overwhelmed.  

When you focus on manifesting something else rather than accepting what is in front of you right now, you miss the journey. You are not present. You are somewhere else, preoccupied, missing the lesson and the love. Earth is fun.  It is part amusement park, part national forest, sometimes a scary movie like the chainsaw massacre movies, throw in some Las Vegas, some Manhattan, and overall lots of different terrain and weather. Instead of working hard to try and control it all by manifesting what your human form is craving, fully participate in the adventure, all of it.

Do intend and manifest. Intend to understand and commit to the Path you designed and chose with Guidance, when in Spirit. Pray to understand what, and why you came here to learn and evolve as a Soul.  Manifest your warrior spirit to take on the journey you designed to challenge you.  Learn to accept and love all aspects of your journey, stay your own best friend, and to keep connected to Source for Guidance while on this Earth.  Choose love and learning, challenge and peace.
