The Monster in You: Your Wounded Inner Child

Image
The Monster in You: Your Wounded Inner Child What? “My darling neglected, wounded inner child a monster?”   Yes. In the extreme, every abuser, pedophile, sadist, emotional abuser has themselves been abused, but more importantly, is unhealed.   The damages from their own past remained unexamined, usually still live in the unconsciousness, and therefore unhealed. The wounded child will run your life, will control your emotional reactions and flavor all of your life situations and choices. Your magical, spiritual, loving, hopeful, optimistic, healed or never wounded inner child does the same: runs your life, controls your heart chakra therefore your emotional reactions, and makes healthy choices that support you as an adult. Simply “knowing” about your inner child, or making blithe comments about your inner child does not imply a healing. Simply saying that you have learned some information is a bit like “monkey see, monkey do”.   It is a start. Information is not knowledge. Info

On "correcting" your Spiritual Teacher

On "correcting" your Spiritual Teacher. Not many people are blessed to have a Spiritual Teacher. I am not talking about a new age workshop mogul.   More in the Eastern Tradition, a Spiritual Teacher is one chosen, not self-chosen, to take on the challenge of helping others to find balance. Balance between logic and intuition, Earth and Heaven, ego and ego-less, always seeing an opening for a serious student to take one more step towards his/her personal cultivation and evolution.   Bringing a person into balance means first getting him/her unstuck from his/her original position. One needs to empty the cup to then be willing and able to seek a new balance point. Otherwise one stays stuck, feeling safe, preferring the known no matter how bad it is to the fear of the unknown, the new balance point.   A Teacher will need to mix it up to confound your stuck-ness, to trick or seduce the left brain or simply wear it out before you will be able to receive something so

Proving yourself to your Teacher

Proving Yourself to your Teacher In the American culture we work hard to show what we know.   It is demanded that employees, bosses, students “know” information. You are asked to “prove” yourself over and over again and have to jump through hoops to do so. You are taught to stand your ground, prove you are “right” sometimes you even need to “take over” to show you are “ready”. This is the excessive yang energy of the culture. But you are made of both yin and yang energies. The work I teach in the tradition of my Teacher emphasizes the responsibilities and compassionate and considerate behaviors of this current life on Earth, as well as cultivating and developing a stronger ability to follow the Guidance of Above. It is learning to live balancing yang and yin energies, both. It is quite a challenge. You have to learn to be soft and open while holding your ground in your Earth duties. You have to learn information and knowledge for your work life and raising children, pets, etc.

Do you want to tell your Story, or do you want Miracles in your life?

Do you want to tell your Story, or do you want Miracles in your life? The new age industry sells stories, not spirituality. Westerners love their stories. It is material for social media, parties, books, and essential to be a workshop leader or some kind of self-proclaimed teacher. Stories about what happened, how you feel, what the “signs” are, they can make you feel like you exist, have a purpose, that you actually know what is going on and that your decisions, YOURS, are determining the direction of your life.   Stories tranquilize. They give you the sense that you are headed in the “right direction”, fulfilling your “life’s purpose” and that you are indeed doing what you are “supposed” to be doing. Whew. So much fear and control behind those desires. You get addicted to your stories. You create them to suffer through unbearable marriages, or to soothe anxieties and depressions. They can become a way to self-medicate. Your stories give direction to your pra
