The Middle Path

A small note first. People think my articles are specifically about them and that in some (passive aggressive) manner I am sending them a message through a public forum rather than being straight forward and having a direct conversation.  For example in “Teaching people how to treat you: Part 2” all those comments were made either to me or were shared with me from other teachers/healers. Some examples are from years ago, some recently and they inspired the article. People contacted me to apologize but that was unnecessary because those that needed to be spoken to were, and others taught me to make adjustments and get strong enough to improve my own boundaries.  No passive aggressive messages sent. As a small example, there are some people that consistently call or email me for free advice, never seeking an appointment and refusing to offer payment (after of course first telling me how important I am to them etc. ). After giving these people increasingly strong and direct messages I have to eventually refuse to respond to them. I am then gossiped about as being "money oriented" or I get a victim message from the people saying that I don't care about them.  Boundaries and self-care are difficult and the blow back  is often as hard as tolerating the bad behavior but it does pay off in the long run. Patterns are challenging and hard to break because they are typically so habitual they have become unconscious behavior. When you bring up a pattern and the person gets reactive instead of thoughtful and refuses to change you will need to set strong boundaries.  Usually people then leave, offended, when their patterns are addressed through boundaries that need to be used after conversations don’t work as described in the “Teaching people how to treat you: Part 2” article last week.

When I use specific examples from my life it is because people often do not relate to “textbook” type of information to reveal some learning.  The stories I use are not secret passive aggressive messages, they are things I observe happening as patterns (not events) in people and using examples is the best way to teach people how to see patterns. Patterns mean it is time to heal, events may or may not be a one-time circumstance.  If what you read in these articles has meaning for you, if you think you see yourself in an article, take the best from it. If you think I am sending you a secret message about you, ask me and I will clarify. If you think I am sending out secret messages on some unresolved issue, that is so not true and perhaps you should look inside to find that why you chose that interpretation.  I hope this helps, so, moving on.

**The Middle Path**

What about all those cool people, walk-ins, 8th dimensional beings, reincarnations of someone amazing?  I have been a student of spirituality since my 20’s (that’s 46 years now) and a practitioner for 33 years and have met lots of people in the spiritual industry and “community”.  Many, if not most, do not work on themselves. They work on their “spiritual gifts” and will spend hours communicating with the mothership, with the inner terrestrials, talking to their purple flame, even controlling the weather “I spent the morning bringing the hurricane down to a storm level”  (Wow, really? What if “god/goddess” who created that storm did so for, gulp, a higher purpose? Don’t get me started.)  In the meantime what I observe are “practitioners” on drugs (yes weed taken outside of ceremony on a daily basis to take care of moods or pain etc. means you are taking drugs), addicted to nicotine, alcohol, food, sugar, sometimes sex, co-dependence, etc.  Few have an actual “practice”. Some do rituals, like people do in church, making the motions with no energy invested in the ritual. Like a ritual is magic (which it is not). A ritual is only a way to focus energy, not substitute for energy.  And the only way one cultivates energy is through, you guessed it, a practice.  I cannot say I am right or that I have the only truth, however what I observe is that when you are incarnated 1) You have a body and you need to care for it or the complications will torture you and/or give you discernible mood disorders  2) You choose to have a body when you decided to incarnate so why go off plan once you get here and decide to now ignore your body, or in fact any other relevant factors of this incarnation such as 3)Your family of origin which instills the patterns in you that are “meant to be” in order to set up the challenges you came here to tackle . These challenges are your pathway to your evolution as a Soul. 4) When incarnated, with few exceptions (meaning those with extreme spiritual practices not commonly known and most people do not have the discipline to do them either), most of your time here, you are subject to the laws of Earth including the consequences that will occur when you ignore or suppress noticing  your unconscious habitual choices (patterns) such as neglecting to tend to your body, mind (intelligence and emotions), and Spirit. For those who are “awakened” it is difficult to be around people (including spiritual people) because you will perceive and sense how much habitual pain they are living with including but not limited to unhealed emotions, dysfunctional or failed relationships, addictions with themselves and/or children, ongoing physical problems and more. It is excruciating to observe people using spirituality as a way to deflect, deny and avoid issues many of which actually could be solved with some effort (and knowledge).  While also true for muggle, muggles typically don’t use “spirituality” as a rationale for refusing to handle daily life issues.

If you are happy with your life read no further, go out and have a great day, go play. Sadly people in denial feel happy for a long time (like alcoholics) until they “bottom out” meaning the level of pain has to rise above the amazing coping mechanisms they have developed and are using to feel good, until, well, they stop working. After the alcohol, after decades of communicating with the mothership, you will wake up to pain, pain you do not feel when communing with inner terrestrials, communing with crystals, humming from a sound bath etc. If tools are being used, constantly, to feel good, even if you think they are good tools, don’t you think that might be a red flag? For those of you that agree and are looking to embrace and enjoy your earth life as well as your amazing spiritual adventures, read on.

I work with a middle path that embraces your chosen earth life (because you and your Guides set it up specifically for you) and the magic you have inside of you that gives you the gifts to be a Spiritual Secret Agent, a healed and healing being spreading light to others without seeking recognition. This means healing your Self and your earth life so you can evolve, as well as developing Spiritual Talents because not only do they help others, they are fun fun fun.  One of the biggest issues when you begin to wake up is shame. When you wake up, you learn, and when you learn you see things you did in a new light. Hindsight is true learning on a deep level and sometimes it is an epiphany, and sometimes it is an unbearable revelation with pain and shame to go with it. Healing shame will heal your body, you will lose weight, have better love making, heal your children and healing shame takes off the dark cover (s) that are shading your light. There is only one true way to heal shame, bring it to the light, and talk it out in front of a trained group or person. This is not only psychology, you will find this tradition in every religious text across the globe. If you do not reveal shame inside of you to the Light of both Spirit and humans, it will fester inside of you like an undiscovered cancer causing deep scars and affecting all of your choices in life and relationships.

There are many tools for healing, psychological and spiritual. I am an advocate of both however psychology typically requires the person to do the actual work. The therapist hands you the tools but you have to use them to cultivate the garden of your life. The shortcoming of psychology, aside from the difficulty of finding a great therapist (as hard as finding a great car mechanic) is mainstream psychology does not incorporate issues such as if you see ghosts, are clairvoyant, or if you have your other concurrent lives bleeding through, etc. Also with psychology, people often learn too little and try to apply it themselves without full understanding or perhaps it is lack of respect for the expertise offered. It is also now part of the culture to think you “got” something after a 3 minute YouTube.

Spiritual tools also have shortcomings. Most spiritual healer types have no education, no body of knowledge and are responsible to no one. They are “shown” in a vision, dream, download etc. (all the narratives are basically the same) some mission and tool. No research is done, there is no accountability,  and most of the people doing this are “given” this “gift/talent” with no work on their part.  Those tools are then offered in some certification program (again no accountability, no peer review etc.), and the tools used typically give you an experience with very little (if any) requirement for you to do any work other than show up and be “worked” on. For me so many spiritual tools (and I have fun with them too) are like being able to hire an amazing masseuse, or sexual escort who will  “do you” with no effort on your part. Yes, you will benefit, you will feel amazing, and you might make some breakthroughs and progress. However, you can start to overuse the tools, then keep changing the tools, as a way to simply stay out of pain. And while this might be a better choice at least for a while than drinking or weeding or numerous ayahuasca journeys, at some point, you will see the tools are just tools and the garden does not weed itself. The tools can often put you in a better mood to do the weeding, however seeking out and using tools can also become like people who buy and hoard gym equipment that they never use.

Again as usual, this is a short article introducing ideas to think about and if you are interested, pursue to read and learn on your own or with a group or a Teacher. The point is, you have a left and right brain for a reason (amazing amazing 18 minute award winning Ted talk to watch, get tissues too: https://www.ted.com/talks/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_stroke_of_insight?language=en) so use both hemispheres to make your choices regarding healing, improving, learning. It is not all from Spirit, we live in a vehicle and the Creator did not make a mistake creating your left brain.

Learn, read, study, use science. Use reason, logic, pros and cons, examine evidence, look for patterns you are avoiding, seek credentials when working with someone, evaluate your experiences, look at real life evidence, and stop with the new age nonsense narratives.

Also, have a real Spiritual Practice. Cultivate your energetic soul self so you can learn and become strong enough to read energy and learn to discern between intuition and Guidance and when you are running away from your wounds and pain.

Learn to make choices using energy to feel what the right choice is for you in the moment and learn to do this in partnership with your beautiful left brain. Until you cultivate through a Practice, you will often experience your left brain as the oppressor and then make choices from emotions. And if you are unhealed you are making choices from your unhealed emotions and that will feel like you are “following guidance”. Your incarnation is a partnership and partnerships thrive through the choices they make, not by luck or “we’ll see”.  Learn to dance with all of you, body, mind, and Spirit. In order to do that, each needs tending, each needs balance.

This middle path is not for everyone. You will learn psychology and science along with unbelievable metaphysical experiences. You will feel challenged, you will have to be brave, in fact many times. You will be tempted to leave in a huff. Your ego will convince you that you are being attacked, when in fact your ego and patterns are the ones feeling threatened.  You can still do all your fun new age tools but you will see them differently as you discover that what the tools have to offer, you can do them yourself, sober.  Your practice and work will open your gateway to heaven, heaven on earth. You will be able to travel in space and time, to connect to the eternal joy of Source, but not in order to avoid this life of yours, or your pain or confusion. You will build a Home inside of yourself and when you go Home, the Creator can then safely come and transport you where you need to go for your Soul to soar. My Teacher saved my life and showed me a world I thought only existed once you died, but I was shown and then I took on the work that gave me the ways of experiencing heaven on Earth. After 34 years of his Teaching, the amount of students that attend is still small. That seems to be so for True Teachers. The middle path is not commercially appealing. I am honored and often overwhelmed to be Teaching, and still learning, in the same tradition.
