Mmmm Mmmmm Good - The dangers of meditation

Lower body sensations-- yum !  Food, wine, women/men, sensuality.  What does that have to do with Spirituality ?  I see everything as the yin/yang sign. Everything has good and challenge in it.

As we meditate we increase our energy field and our sensitivities. We can see, feel, or hear Spirits, Ancestors, Mother Earth and revel in it. Our lower body sensations will also increase and we are tempted to seek out Earth Pleasures above and before our Spiritual Ascension. We abandon friends for fame, drink rather than meditate, lie to keep the peace rather than seek to deepen through honesty, etc.

There is a thin line here. As we evolve, so does temptation. Like the yin/yang sign, the dark and light are always in balance here on Earth as part of our Journey is a constant choice between temptation and ascension.   They are not mutually exclusive, but rather a sophisticated balancing act as we strive for detachment. We learn to enjoy Earth without becoming trapped by desires. Easy to say, not so easy to do.

Detachment does not mean being numb, or not caring. It means we live for Surrender and Acceptance to Spirit first, and whether or now we eat cake is secondary. Our sense of contentment and joy is no longer dependent on Earth Plane externals (which we cannot control but we can pursue as a distraction)  but rather relies on our deep intimate connection with our Soul Self and the energy of others. We can control that connection through the power we develop in cultivation. Our Soul and Spirit are ALWAYS available.....if we keep the door open through our practice.  The pursuit of Spirit, unlike the pursuit of Earth desires and sensations, always ends in joy, growth, harmony, serenity, miraculous miracles, humor, compassion, and inspiration. The choice is yours..... every day..... every minute of the day.
