Dirty little secrets

So many have secrets. People sneak food, drink alcohol, have a sugar habit, can't orgasm, are depressed.  Every day people do this and more interestingly people in the helping, motivation, exercise, or spiritual industry often have more secrets than most. They have more to lose. If they are selling a system that "works".... appearances count.... perhaps even more than the practice they sell. Not only that, the public loves to worship..... sadly not Creator, but rather humans. Frail and imperfect humans. We create heroes who in turn create themselves. Some "heroes" come close to revealing themselves, most are revealed after their death. In truth, we have no idea what people really going through in their lives. Nor do we typically want to know. We want to worship some ideal. This helps us to further self criticize....we are not that ideal. And this in turn encourages us to keep more secrets.

This is not just about lying. Or making a profit. It is more about fear, and faith.... lack of. As if some parts of our self are "wrong" or need to be corrected. Which implies we know better than Great Spirit who we are meant to be and how to make the corrections from the original plan in order to live the life we know we are meant to have. After all, our plan is better no? Which leaves the Creator with the job of finding us a parking space when we require one. The fear? That if we truly reveal who we are, either to our self or others close to us, we will not be loved and probably will in fact be rejected. Again, as if our very being is a mistake.

Often we punish those who have secrets like ours or know our secrets as that can expose our own embarrassments. And the poor recipient who is punished, simply for existing in your world,  has no idea what happened or s/he did "wrong."  Imagine how compassionate we could be if we didn't flinch every time someone did something that reminded us of our own "terrible secrets."Imagine this.... we become so comfortable about our very being-ness we no longer have to spend 80% of our daily energy protection our image. Imagine how much our intuition could soar if our energy field was taken down from the red alert job of keeping our secrets.... secret.

When we are comfortable will the totality of our Self,  all of it, we can fall in love.... with "I".  If we are in love with "I", it is natural for others to also love you, if you are their flavor. After all that is why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors to choose from.  So now, instead of bad and wrong, good or not good.... instead of secrets..... it all becomes flavors, and that is simply choice. Choice, not judgement.

While therapy can help, it is still one person sharing his/her "dirty" secret with another-- a professional who has been trained to not "disclose" except in a controlled fashion in order to move the therapy forward. Activating meditation, heart centered meditation, can build up our strength to be able to face and embrace ALL of whom we are.  Meditation is a personal journey, with others. You are alone, with others also alone.... all invested in  discovering Self and becoming One with Self. It is a safe place to stop pretending, and to emerge.  Safe, but it will still be a bit scary and challenging at times, as is typical when one chooses to move forward in life. When we cannot feel our own Self, it is difficult to feel Spirit. Meditation, particularly with a Teacher, provides energetic support to connect you with Spirit and will strengthen your intuition, your relationship with your Guides and which in turn will build Faith.

Every day we have a choice, to hide or come out. To distract or to feel. To stay busy or make time to unite with the Great Silence that allows one to Emerge.  And with each choice we make, our daily life will reflect our commitment and our priorities.

Namaste
