What's my Mission? Really ?

Many people want to find their life's  "mission." Let's look at that question and the shame that lays beneath it. As if we are not good enough to exist without "doing" something that is big enough to get noticed and acknowledged as a mission.  And, as if we have some say in defining how we serve Spirit.

What is the "mission" of a rose?  Or a purring cat?  Does the sunrise need a mission ?  We need to be the best rose, sunrise, platypus, worm, ant  ..... you get the picture, that we can be. If we have a "bigger" mission, trust Spirit to let us know. In the meantime, let's do what is in front of our face. As Zen often states, "chop wood, carry water."  Eat well. Heal childhood issues-- after all we picked our family of origin for that reason-- to stir up Soul issues so we work on them in this life. Fill your self up with Spirit so we don't go looking for answers just from humans who we think are more gifted than we are.  There is nothing wrong with going to a Light Worker for some guidance, but our own core, our base, also needs to be solid so we can blend that guidance with our own Spiritual Guidance. If we are wounded or needy, with unresolved and/or unrecognized issues, our radar for a healthy helper might be compromised. We need to  work on ourselves in addition to any guidance. Guidance can give us the trail map, but we are the ones that have to actually traverse the terrain.

Perhaps there is some ego in this question of what is my mission.  What if Spirit's mission for you is to be the best dishwasher you can be and to help your fellow workers?  I haven't heard too many seekers jump for joy when presented with such an option or interpretation. In fact, people usually do not go back to the Light Worker that dares to verbalize such a thought. In turn, this opens the door for the commercial side of psychics, mediums, new-agers- spiritualists etc to make a fortune peddling grandiose predictions to sad lost people with self esteem issues. When people long to hear some validation, they will pay lots of money, over and over to the same, and different people to keep hearing what they want (and think they need) to hear. Some Light Workers have their own issues that have not been addressed (sometimes in the name of pursuing their Mission).  We all are here to work on our own evolution-- even if we do have a grand "mission."  Light Workers with unaddressed or unacknowledged  low self esteem can, sadly, try to fill this soul hole by making people feel better which in turn alleviates their own inner pain.  Unhealed humans trying to make others feel good, as an unconscious way of holding off  their own pain and as a way to bolster ego is an all too common occurrence in the "feel good" industries.  Here you will find people who still cannot find their own breath teaching breathing workshops, or those who cannot find their own way telling others how to find theirs. And so many who whose primary desire is to earn a living "following their bliss" rather than thinking first of service, or finding their bliss first, then sharing it no matter if one is paid or not.

I believe the job of a Light worker is to make him/herself obsolete.  We teach and assist others connect directly with Spirit, to get validation from an internal as well as a Higher Source. We enhance people's energies to motivate them to do their own spiritual practice so they can enhance their own energies for the rest of their life. We do Readings, with the intent of encouraging and teaching people how to access their own intuition and to directly access their Guides.

When we were tribal, our Shamans lived in the village and we could see how they lived. There were no secrets. That is not the case in modern society. Choose your Shaman/Guide/ Light Worker with care. Look for Light Workers (or any assistance) who are willing to share their background with you. How have they cultivated their spiritual energies as well as human challenges? Do they have a balanced life?    Do they even have a spiritual practice ? After all, even Olympic athletes have to train for years no matter how gifted they are. Get details, generalities can sometimes hide facts and then we fill in the missing details with assumptions. Do you get the vibe that this person wants to help you progress to the point you no longer need him or her?  Or are you getting sold more and more workshops, sessions etc.

Find the wind beneath your wings. Let that be your mission. Start flying and enjoying your life, enjoying you.  Do the footwork and leave the rest to Spirit. You chose your Destiny before you ever incarnated. It will come. The question is, have you put your life on "hold" waiting for your "destiny" or "gift" to "manifest"? If so, life is passing you by.
